When Your Mother Say She's Fat. Oh boy. That one hit me hard, even though those words never once left my mother's mouth. Why? Because just like the majority of women, I am incredibly guilty of muttering those words more than once in my life (admits the nutritionist). I don't have kids, but if I do, I will read this and remind myself the power those words can have. Really though, when did fat become a feeling? A wonderful read.
Why I'm Giving up the Anti-Aging Battle. I love this. A reminder that the term 'anti-aging' is in itself bizarre. Anti-aging? How? We all age, there's no way around it. Youth is certainly a beautiful thing, but so are laugh lines, weathered legs that have treaded the earth, gray hairs that only children can give you, and the wisdom that comes only with age.
How I Want My Daughter To Look. "I think I’ve finally figured out exactly what I want my daughter to look like. Because looks matter. That’s the truth. And because they don’t have to matter as much as they did for me. That’s also the truth...I hope that she will look exactly like herself."
Made me ask out loud if I look exactly like myself.
And finally, if you haven't seen this, just a shout out to one of the better ad campaigns of our time. I heart Dove.
