So, who is Anna?

Where are you from? Where do you live?

I am a born and raised Twin Cities girl. I am not proud to admit that the majority of my life has been spent in a 12 mile radius because I feel like I am an adventurer at heart. Thankfully, I have had the opportunity to travel a quite a bit to see what I am missing. My dream is for my family to live abroad for a couple years, but that dream is filed away in our "10 year plan." Ideally our kiddos would be old enough to remember, but young enough to not be devastated by uprooting.

Favorite pastime?
Does eating count? If not, I love a great yoga class, trying a new restaurant, and shopping. Shucks, am I a walking cliche?

Guilty Pleasure?
Ha! I should probably consider stopping myself...
We have a mirrored wall in our living room (like the floor to ceiling-kind, and we're talking 9' x 24'), and I love to unleash my inner wild woman and dance to a blasting Beyonce song. The mirror is my reality check of what my dancing really looks like, which is why I only do it alone :) There is nothing like dancing your brains out for 3 minutes a day - I highly recommend it!

Favorite band? Current favorite song?
I can NEVER commit to "all-time" favorites - way too much pressure. I love Mumford & Sons and having kitchen dance parties with my girls while listening to them. The song that can be found on repeat at our house at the moment is Andrew Bird's "Hole in the Ocean Floor."

Favorite food or meal?
Sushi rolls. Oh mama, do I love a good sushi roll! The kind I drool over have crunchies and sauce that cannot possibly be considered healthy, but man, it's so worth it in my book. Sakura is where. it's. at.

What's your favorite product in your makeup bag?
Hands down Josie Maran's Argan Color Stick.

What's the best advice you've ever been given?
I have been blessed with lots of wise people who give me great advice. But now that  Dr. Seuss books are apart of my everyday life, I have to say I like just about all of his advice.

Dream vacation?
Taking my husband and daughters to Paris. Our three year old has been talking about Paris since she could talk, so of course her two year old sister does, too. I am sure their beloved Madeline stories play a role in this. Anyhow, she has an eiffel tower on her dresser that she talks to and dances with on a regular basis, so the thought of strolling up to the real deal someday and seeing their eyes light up ignites fireworks in my heart.
*I am aware that I could be setting myself up for a huge let down, as I often dream up "moments" that never quite unfold the way my wild imagination predicts

Did you have a new year's resolution?
I can't remember {this is not uncommon}. In February I was invited to call-in to a free teleclass where we ended up choosing a theme for the year.  I had never heard of choosing a theme rather than a goal or resolution, but I ended up loving it. A theme is short phrases, that can have dozens of meanings to you personally. The theme that I chose is "live in the light" - and I bet I remind myself of it at least 10 times a day. This is something I hope to do in place of resolutions from here on out.

What got you interested in nutrition?
In a nutshell, motherhood. More specifically, both of our daughters have food allergies, so the reading and research regarding allergies started the avalanche. Now I am buried under a bunch of great information and trying to make sense of it all with the help of two hottie nutritionists :)

Anything else you'd like us to know about you?
I have a huge girl crush on Jessica Alba. That was literally the first thing that popped into my head, hmm.
